La lutte sociale fait partie de l'ADN de la Fonderie de Bretagne basée à Caudan, proche de Lorient (Morbihan). "Tous les 10 ans, on doit se battre pour conserver nos emplois", souffle Daniel, chaudronnier retraité. Les ouvriers sont en grève depuis mardi 27 avril. Après un an d'incertitudes, le groupe Renault, auquel appartient l'entreprise, a annoncé la fermeture de cette dernière. Véritable symbole du dynamisme industriel de la région, les habitants se mobilisent pour soutenir les travailleurs contre cette décision à l'occasion de la journée internationale du travail.
"Je suis un ouvrier qui veut bosser". Jimmy lève les yeux. Bleus, perçants, il les dirige vers la pierre fondatrice de la Fonderie de Bretagne posée en 1965 par Georges Pompidou. "Je suis arrivé en 2001. Depuis, j'ai vécu la descente aux enfers industrielle de la France". Le maître mot du groupe à ses yeux : la rationalisation. "Elle est malheureusement synonyme d?externalisation".
"Le combat durera", martèle Sébastien, salarié depuis 1 an. Il résume par ces trois mots, la détermination des 340 travailleurs de l'entreprise. Au sein de l'usine, malgré l'arrêt des chaînes de production, les fours restent en veille. "On ne demande qu'à travailler. Si on nous en donne la possibilité, nous sommes prêts".

The workers of the Fonderie de Bretagne based in Caudan, near Lorient (Morbihan) have been on strike since Tuesday 27 April. After a year of uncertainty, the Renault group, to which the company belongs, has announced the closure of the company. A true symbol of social struggle and industrial dynamism of the region, the inhabitants are mobilizing to support the workers against this decision on the occasion of International Labor Day.

The key word for the group in his eyes: rationalization. Unfortunately, this is synonymous with outsourcing. "The fight will last," says Sébastien, who has been an employee for one year.
