Developpement durable à Grande Synthe
Grande-Synthe est un petit village qui a été complètement détruit pendant la guerre et qui devient alors une "ville champignon" dans les années 60 afin d'accueillir les ouvriers des nouvelles usines qui ouvrent sur le littoral. Construite sur un polder (des terres gagnées sur la mer) et menacée par la montée des eaux due au réchauffement climatique, elle est quadrillée par des wattringues, qui régulent les eaux continentales en les envoyant vers la mer. La ville est coupée de son bord de mer par 14 ( ou 15 ) sites SEVESO. L'ancien maire, Damien Carême, a déposé en 2019 un recours contre l'Etat pour "non respect de ses engagements climatiques" devant le conseil d'Etat. Grande-Synthe étant particulièrement menacée de submersion marine et inondation. Grande Synthe devient capitale de la biodiversité en 2010. Le taux de chômage y est élevé (presque 30%) et les logements sociaux occupent environ 60% de la ville. Aujourd'hui c'est une ville en pleine transition. De nombreuses actions sont menées pour accompagner cette transition : transports gratuits, cantine bio, instauration d'un minimum social garanti (MSG) financé par l'économie faite sur l'éclairage public -rééquipé en led-, constructions d'habitats écologiques (isolation thermique, etc), jardins partagés, ? La politique du prochain mandat (Martial Beyaert - PS) est axée sur la solidarité et sécurité alimentaire et sur l'amélioration du reste à vivre. Une manière d'emmener les habitants vers une transition écologique et sociale, en proposant des mesures concrètes et une amélioration du cadre de vie.
Sustainable development at Grande Synthe
Grande-Synthe is a small village which was completely destroyed during the war and which then became a "mushroom town" in the 1960s in order to accommodate the workers of the new factories opening on the coast. Numerous actions are being carried out to support this transition: free transport, organic canteen, establishment of a guaranteed social minimum (MSG) financed by the savings made on public lighting - re-equipped with led -, construction of ecological homes (insulation thermal, etc), shared gardens, ... The policy of the next term (Martial Beyaert - PS) is focused on solidarity and food security and on improving the rest to live. A way of leading the inhabitants towards an ecological and social transition, by proposing concrete measures and an improvement of the living environment.
