Capitale de la Soule, plus petite province du Pays basque, Mauleon est le berceau de l'espadrille dont l'histoire
remonterait au 12eme siecle. Malgre l'industrialisation de sa fabrication en Asie, le savoir-faire local se perpétue notamment grace a Don Quichosse dont la reputation a largement depasse les frontieres du Pays basque. Philippe et Timothee Cangrand, père et fils, perpétuent la tradition avec le label « Entreprise du patrimoine vivant ». Un Made in France mais surtout "In sud ouest" qui a su aussi attirer les commandes de Repetto, Lacoste , les Galeries Lafayettes... Avec plusieurs dizaines de milliers d'espadrilles produites chaque annee, Don Quichosse sait aussi innover dans les matieres, les styles...
