Ostende
L'ensemble Ostende est un cheminement vers le rivage, une tentative de photographier un déplacement physique et mental.
Cet essai photographique a vu le jour à l'occasion d'un projet de création collectif, épaulé par le photographe Gilles Coulon, du collectif Tendance Floue : quinze photographes en résidence à Bruxelles pendant quatre jours, avec l'objectif de jeter les bases d'une publication sous forme de journal.
L'objet final, Jour de sortie, explore la relation documentaire/fiction autour du sujet de la sortie de prison, en confrontant photographies d'un dehors fantasmé et témoignages d'ex-détenus recueillis par les photographes.
J'ai fait du moment de la prise de vue mon propre jour de sortie, une évasion, un voyage en train et à pied vers la mer du Nord. Mon père venait de mourir.
Ostend
The Ostend ensemble is the result of a collective photographic creation project, carried out in residence in Brussels in 2014, and supported by the photographer Gilles Coulon, from the Tendance Floue collective. Fifteen photographers set themselves the goal of working in a limited time, 4 days to produce, 4 days to edit and 4 days to lay the foundations for a publication in the form of a newspaper.
The final object, Jour de sortie, explores the documentary/fiction relationship around the subject of release from prison, by confronting photographs of a fantasized outside and testimonies of ex-detainees collected by the photographers.
This project took on a particular tone for me, because, having lost my father during the residency, my desire to go and photograph the horizon in Ostend was coloured by an attempt to say goodbye to the man who had just left.
