Avril à octobre 1961 : ces 6 mois vont bousculer durablement l'histoire de France. Sur le petit écran d'un salon de l'époque, la voix chevrotante des journalistes commente en noir et blanc le putsch des généraux, l'attentat manqué contre le général de Gaulle, l'état de siège à Alger. La tension en métropole, traduite sur scène, va crescendo. La plume musclée, tantôt scalpel tantôt poésie, du duo costarmoricain formé par Diane Giorgis et Ali Khelil multiplie les regards, en une succession de séquences documentées d'une intensité saisissante. Pour les Français musulmans d'Algérie, les situations de la vie courante (aller au café ou au cinéma, accompagner sa femme à l'hôpital) se heurtent à la violence des forces de l'ordre, aux insultes ou à l'absurdité des démarches administratives. En faisant le décompte des disparu.e.s, Couvre-feu montre en douceur et en apnée l'immensité du chemin vers la réconciliation.

On the small screen of a living room of the time, the voice of journalists commenting in black and white on the putsch of the generals, the failed attempt on the life of General de Gaulle, the state of siege in Algiers... The tension in metropolitan France, translated on stage, is going to crescendo. The muscular pen, sometimes scalpel sometimes poetry, of the duo from Costa Rica formed by Diane Giorgis and Ali Khelil multiplies the views, in a succession of documented sequences of a striking intensity. For French Muslims in Algeria, everyday situations (going to the café or the cinema, accompanying one's wife to the hospital...) come up against the violence of the police, insults or the absurdity of administrative procedures. By counting the disappeared?e?s, Couvre-feu gently and breathlessly shows the immensity of the path to reconciliation.
