[GUERRE EN UKRAINE] ORPHELINAT DE VILSHANY
En Ukraine, depuis l'invasion russe, la guerre touche aussi les personnes handicapées placées en institution. Plusieurs ont dû être évacuées comme celles de Jytomyr et Kryvyi-Rih. Une quarantaine de jeunes gravement handicapés ont trouvé refuge dans l'orphelinat de Vilshany, localisé en Transcarpathie, une région jusque-là épargnée par le conflit. L'un des groupes est accompagné par deux membres du personnel de l'orphelinat volontaires, l'intendante et l'assistante sociale. Elles doivent dorénavant s'improviser aides soignantes. L'orphelinat de Vilshany, qui accueille en temps normal 170 enfants et jeune adultes gravement handicapés (catégorie IV) est soutenu depuis près de 30 ans par l'ONG Comité d'Aide Médicale. Longtemps orphelinat mouroir, il est aujourd'hui une institution modèle dans le pays. Le développement des personnes est favorisé notamment par la participation à de nombreux ateliers : enseignement, musique, création artistique, menuiserie...
[UKRAINE WAR] VILSHANY CHILDREN'S ORPHANAGE
In Ukraine, since the Russian invasion, the war also affects disabled people placed in institutions. Many had to be evacuated like those in Jytomyr and Kryvyi-Rih. About 40 severely disabled young people have found refuge in the Vilshany orphanage, located in Transcarpathia, a region previously spared by the conflict. One of the groups is accompanied by two staff members of the volunteer orphanage, the housekeeper and the social worker. From now on, they must improvise themselves as caregivers. The Vilshany orphanage, which normally welcomes 170 severely handicapped children and young adults (category IV), has been supported for nearly 30 years by the NGO Comité d'Aide Médicale. For a long time, this orphanage was an orphanage of misery, but today it is a model institution in the country.
