COPULA - LE COUPLE
Couple : du latin copula « lien, chaîne; groupe de deux personnes liées par l'amitié, l'amour »
Il fut un temps où les hommes n'avaient pas la même forme qu'aujourd'hui. C'étaient des êtres doubles qui avaient à la fois un sexe féminin et un sexe masculin. Ces êtres étaient très forts et très orgueilleux : un jour ils décidèrent d'escalader le ciel afin de s'en prendre aux Dieux. Pour les punir et les affaiblir, Zeus les coupa en deux. (...) Depuis, chaque moitié est en quête de sa moitié complémentaire.

Est-ce que cette légende du Banquet de Platon dit vrai ?
Sommes-nous conditionnés à chercher l'âme soeur pour devenir des êtres complets ?
Tiraillé entre le mythe de l'Amour éternel et les injonctions d'une société qui n'aime rien tant que le changement, chaque Couple est un nid d'enjeux aussi inexplicables et incertains que magiques.
C'est sur ce lien à la fois fort et fragile que j'ai choisi de poser mon objectif afin d?immortaliser ses fils qui se nouent avec le temps et qui, un jour peut-être, seront coupés net.
Pour tenter de saisir les mécanismes du Couple, j'ai choisi de m'en approcher au plus près, d'aller au coeur de leur intimité, là où le symbole et la complicité sont les plus forts : dans leur lit.
Et pour explorer d'avantage ce "terrain" intime, j'ai choisi d'accompagner les images de leur voix.

Couple: from the Latin copula "bond, chain; group of two persons bound by friendship, love".
There was a time when men did not have the same shape as today. They were double beings who had both a female and a male sex. These beings were very strong and very proud: one day they decided to climb the sky in order to attack the Gods. To punish them and weaken them, Zeus cut them in two. (...) Since then, each half has been searching for its complementary half.

Are we conditioned to search for our soulmate to become complete beings?
Torn between the myth of eternal Love and the injunctions of a society that loves nothing so much as change, each Couple is a nest of issues as inexplicable and uncertain as they are magical.
It is on this link, both strong and fragile, that I have chosen to place my lens in order to immortalise the threads that knot together over time and which, one day, may be cut off.
To try to capture the mechanisms of the Couple, I chose to get as close as possible, to go to the heart of their intimacy, where the symbolism and complicity are strongest: in their bed.
And to further explore this intimate "terrain", I chose to accompany the images with their voices.
