L'habitat moyen à Moscou
L'héritage communiste est encore visible aujourd'hui dans la vie quotidienne des russes. Pensés et imposés par l'Etat dès les années 50, les immeubles d'habitation sont multipliés à l'identique autour du centre de Moscou, définissant ainsi des strates bien distinctes qui découpent la ville en fonction des périodes de construction. Leur austérité commune rappelle l'utilitarisme forcené et la rigueur héritée des principes constructivistes : limiter la forme au nécessaire. Aux quatre coins de la ville on ne distingue que ces mêmes immeubles à perte de vue, formatant ainsi le paysage visuel des habitants.
Ces habitations toutes semblables de l'extérieur renferment néanmoins des réalités sociales très différentes. Au cours des dernières décennies les russes ont peu à peu vu évoluer leur pouvoir d'achat, sans pour autant avoir le temps ni la possibilité de changer leurs habitudes, notamment en matière d'habitat. Des écarts se sont ainsi creusés entre la population au sein d'un même groupe d'immeubles où nouveaux riches et familles modestes cohabitent parfois sur le même pallier.
Middle housing in Moscow
The communist's legacy is still visible in the Russian's daily lives. The residential buildings, conceived and imposed by the government since the 50's, are identically multiplied around the center of Moscow, creating visible stratas to the city depending on the period of construction. Their shared austerity reminds the obsessive utilitarism and strictness inherited from constructivist principles : the form to be limited to the necessary. All across the city, these identical buildings are present as far as the eye can see, formating the visual landscape of the inhabitants.
Although these housings are all similar from the outside, they contain many different social realities. Russian's purchasing power has been raising during the last decades. Yet they did not have the time or the possibility to change their habits, in particular regarding housing. The gap has been widening within the population of a same group of buildings, where the newly rich and more modest families sometimes live on the same floor.
