Against all expectations, polo in Kenya
In East Africa, Kenya is not the birthplace of the horse, unlike Ethiopia and Somalia. But the animal and the sports that surround it were imported by British troops from Europe and India, and the polo culture survived decolonisation. Today, it is the most popular amateur equestrian sport and the Nairobi Polo Club is very active.
