Elle se suicide le 4 août 1962, à l’âge de 36 ans. Parmi les nombreuses œuvres qui la représentent, dont les célèbres peintures d’Andy Warhol, la statue géante Forever Marilyn, désormais exposée à Palm Springs (Californie) a été réalisée par l’artiste Seward Jonhson en 2011. Avec ses huit mètres de haut, elle représente Marilyn Monroe dans la pose la plus connue du film Sept ans de réflexion.

She committed suicide on August 4, 1962, at the age of 36. Among the many works representing her, including the famous paintings by Andy Warhol, the giant Forever Marilyn statue, now on display in Palm Springs (California), was created by the artist Seward Johnson in 2011. At eight meters high, it represents the American star in her most famous pose from the film Seven Years of Thinking (1955).
